Course summary This course builds risk management capability for organisations. Learners develop risk assessment skills and produce a practical risk management implementation plan. Who should attend Management. Safety and health personnel. Line supervisors. Team leaders. RM team leaders. Risk management champions. Course objective Learners gain the knowledge and skills to lead the workplace risk management process, develop a practical implementation plan, form a risk management team, conduct risk assessment, control and monitor risks, and communicate risks in line with the Risk Management Code of Practice. Key learning outcomes Verify expectations of the RM champion or RM team leader. Form a risk management team in line with organisational WSH policy and WSH (Risk Management) Regulations. Establish hazard identification methodology. Establish risk assessment methodology. Establish risk control measures methodology using hierarchy of control and ALARP principles. Develop a workplace risk management plan. Present the risk management plan to stakeholders. Communicate identified hazards, evaluated risks, and implemented controls. Duration and class size Total recommended learning hours: 16 hours. Maximum class size: 20 participants. Lesson plan structure: 15 learning hours plus 1 assessment hour. Course structure Day 1 covers organisational WSH policy, RM roles, legal requirements, RM team formation, risk management process, hazard identification methods, hazard classification, hazards related to tools and equipment, hazards related to work processes and environment, and at-risk behaviours. Day 2 covers risk assessment concepts, risk assessment methodology, risk control measures, ALARP, residual risk, safe work procedures, training for risk control, tracking control effectiveness, plan development, plan presentation, and risk communication, followed by assessment. Notes for participants and employers bizSAFE Level 2 focuses on acquiring risk management capability, including attending and passing a 2-day risk management course conducted by an accredited training organisation.
